CFSME Gains Trades Accreditation
In 2004, the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) reached a milestone in the long evolution of professionalism in the construction engineering trades. For many decades, CFSME has produced soldiers capable of building, repairing, and sustaining the infrastructure that Accreditation supports operations at home and abroad. Yet civilian recognition of this training remained uneven.
MCpl Mark “Izzy” Isfeld
Michael "Izzy" Isfeld was killed in Croatia on this day in 1994, during his third peacekeeping tour in the Former Yugoslavia. He is remembered by the Izzy Doll project he and his mother started after his first tour in Croatia.
Exercise PALADIN RESPONSE
For the past 50 years, Reserve Force Engineers from across Canada have come together during the Christmas period to enhance their combat engineering skills. While the name has changed, the exercise that began in 1976 continues to this day.
Canadian Military Engineers Strengthen Partnerships at Camp Murray
From 3–14 August 26, Canadian Military Engineers from 19 Mission Support Squadron (19 MSS), 17 MSS, and 14 Construction Engineering Squadron (14 CES) participated in the Construction Engineering Project Exchange Program (CEPEP) at Camp Murray, Washington.
CEPEP provides Canadian and United States military engineers with opportunities to work alongside one another, exchange technical knowledge, develop trade skills, and strengthen interoperability between both nations.

CFSME Contingent at Op GRANITE II
The CFSME Command Team and contingent travelled to Chilliwack, British Columbia, in support of Operation GRANITE for the rededication of the All Sappers Memorial—the principal memorial of the Canadian Military Engineers and a focal point of remembrance for generations of Sappers. First dedicated on 14 July 1946, this year marks its 80th anniversary.
