For the second time, Lieutenant-General Chris Whitecross, Commander of Military Personnel Command, has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. She previously received this honour in 2011. The award is given to proven achievers who are strong contributors to their organisations, their fields of endeavour, and their communities.

We are pleased to announce the Chief of the Defense Staff, has appointed CWO J.A. Guimond to replace CWO K.C. West as the 13th Canadian Forces Chief Warrant Officer (CFCWO).
Along with the CDS, we thank CWO West for his dedication to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and for his significant contribution to our institution. We also like to congratulate CWO Guimond on his appointment as the 13th CFCWO.
WO Dempsey is an electrician working in the training cell at CFB Greenwood. His wife, Susan, recently experienced a medical problem causing a severe infection spread throughout her body, destroying her hip. After several months in hospital, she has only recently become infection free. She is now awaiting a hip replacement with the first of two surgeries scheduled for 1 November.

As Remembrance Day approaches, time should be taken to remember those who have gone before us.
These are the members of the Engineer family whose deaths we have been able to record since our last Tribute page, No Sapper Can Be Forgotten - 2015. Many are veterans of The Second World War, Korea, the Cold War, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and many Peacekeeping Operations. All deserve our respect and gratitude.
Curtis Barrett joined the Canadian Army in 2000 and served as a Combat Engineer in 2 Combat Engineer Regiment in Petawawa until 2004 before joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
On 26 October 2016, Constable Barrett was awarded the Star of Courage from His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada.

The CMEA website has a new personal profile page for you to provide personal profile details as well access to your membership number and payment status. One of the features of this feature is allowing users to change basic information about themselves (e.g. rank, unit address etc.) as this information is important to identify with which Chapter a member is affiliated. In an effort to know our membership better, we have added several fields to the profile form allowing you to identify your trade, your Chapter, your interests and any memberships you may have in other groups.
Meritorious Service Decorations are an important part of the Canadian Honours system. Like the Order of Canada, they recognize excellence. However, they honour either a single achievement or an activity over a shorter period of time, while the Order of Canada focuses on lifetime achievement. Meritorious Service Decorations are separated into military and civil divisions, with two levels in each category: a medal and a cross.
