RCAF family visits Montenegro’s Battle of Mojkovac sites
This Remembrance Day, November 11, marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. In 2016, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and his family visited the site of a First World War battle of which most Canadians are probably unaware. They also visited the graves of his ancestors.

Governor General to Invest 70 Recipients into the Order of Military Merit

OTTAWA—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will preside over an Order of Military Merit investiture ceremony at the Canadian War Museum, on Tuesday, November 6, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. The Governor General will bestow the honour on 1 Commander, 14 Officers and 55 Members.
Among these are the following members of the Canadian Military Engineers:
Sinai Spotlight – MFO Force Engineering Remote Site Construction Project Lead – Corporal Colton Larade

Approaching the remote site, you can’t help but be struck by the rock, sand and lack of anything green on the island. For the past seven months, Corporal Colton Larade has worked tirelessly to improve the living and working conditions for personnel of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) who live at the remote observation post.
CME Museum Displays Capt Mitchell's Victoria Cross
To honour the night Captain Norman Mitchell performed the action for which he received the Victoria Cross, the Canadian Military Engineers Museum exhibited his medals in the lobby of The Mitchell Building. On the night of 8-9 October 1918, One hundred years ago this month, Captain Mitchell, Sergeant Teddy Jackson, and Sappers Ed Murphy, Dan Smith, Alex Walker and Sapper Barbour successfully defended the Pont d’Aire at Cambrai preventing its demolition and allowing troops to advance into Cambrai that morning.
'Clearing the Way' to be Screened at Historic Polish Film Festival
The International Historical and Military Film Festival is a public weal of the Polish culture which serves the non-commercial promotion of the cinema dedicated to the past and defense traditions of the countries from which films were submitted and accepted to the Festival.
