On 14 July 2025, the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) held a Change of Command Ceremony presided by Col Barbara Honig, Comd CTC and outgoing Director Royal Canadian Engineers (RCE). This was the first time the Reviewing Officer, outgoing and incoming Commandants were all women in the Combat Arms, all three being engineer officers. 

We welcomed LCol Heather Reibin as the incoming commandant and new deputy director (D/Dir) Royal Canadian Engineers (RCE) and we honored the departure of Cindy Legarie.

On 5 July 2025, the 32^nd annually held No. 2 Construction Battalion Remembrance Ceremony was held in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The ceremony, organized by the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, and greatly supported by 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR), is an annual tribute reflecting the commitment to preserving the memory of the only all-Black battalion in Canada’s military history.

Veterans, members of CPVA, friends, and families are invited to attend the National Peacekeepers’ Day ceremony at The Reconciliation monument in downtown Ottawa, beginning at 0945 hrs on Sunday, 10 August 2025. All are welcome in their preferred order of dress.
