In the moments following the "Amazing Race" lunch, Mr. Jaime Pitfield, ADM (IE), presented awards to seven individuals who have distinguished themselves during the past year.
"Anyone in the community, regardless of where they serve can be nominated for these awards. This year, most nominees came from the National Capital Region IE Group so this gathering provides an excellent opportunity to present the following seven awards", said Mr. Pitfield.
- Stephanie Cowan - The Environmental Achievement Award
Stephanie belongs to DG Portfolio Requirements and is the analyst who works behind the scenes to seek and allocate the resources from the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (the FC- SAP). She is recognized for her instrumental contribution over the past three years for representing and advancing the FC-SAP program in the Department.
- Vaidyanathan Hariharasankaran - The Architecture and Engineering Award
Vaidyanathan works for the Director of Architecture and Engineering Services and is recognized for the exceptional technical engineering support that he provides and his strong mentorship and knowledge transfer to the IE community.
- Anne-Marie Coutu - The Issue Management Award
Anne-Marie works in DCLSPD and she is recognized for her outstanding work leading to the Department’s response to the trichloroethylene issue in Valcartier, Que.
- Lisa Hampson - The Aboriginal Relationship Award
Lisa works for DCLSPD and she is recognized for her considerable community engagement efforts while addressing UXO and environmental issues on the Tsuu T’ina Nation reserve lands in Alberta.
- Shayne Mullin - The Nuclear Achievement Award
Shayne works with the Director of Nuclear Safety within DGFNS and RP Ops. He is recognized for his innovative approach to risk-based controls and the implementation of management systems for the ionizing radiation protection program.
- CFHA HSC Petawawa Team - The Real Property Management Award
The 19 person CFHA HSC Petawawa Team is recognize for its outstanding services to affected military families during the July 2013 storm. David Thompson and Chris Wagner accepted the Award on behalf of the Petawawa team.
- Marie-Reine Méreb The ADM(IE) - Award of Excellence
Marie-Reine is a project manager in DCPD and is recognized for her outstanding project management support and stakeholder and client engagement to Construction in Support of Equipment (CISOE) projects and her commitment to the pursuit of quality and excellence in all her undertakings.
