IE FOCUS 10 November 2014 - DGIEES Awards

Carrie Fortier, DGIEES, used her second last day at work before retiring to present awards to 11 deserving individuals from her team. Congratulations to all.

  • Khalid Bashir: In recognition of his commitment to the Quality Management Framework, in particular for his active contribution, above and beyond his normal workload, to the DCPD Quality Manual update and conversion to SharePoint for the benefit of the whole directorate.
  • Nanette Fleisser: For support to her team and furtherance of directorate goals, her dedication in support of the directorate assisting other PMs in the use of the new DRMIS system as well as promptly answering sensitive queries is recognized.
  • Marcel Kauffman: Marcel's leadership from the shadows, analytical prowess, and unwavering efficiency have been crucial to refining many DRMIS processes and support services that we now have across the IE Community.
  • Sajjad Khan: Exceeds expectations to ensure projects are technically sound, and cost effective and risks are mitigated. His contributions to DND are significant and today we recognize him for his diligence.
  • Anne-Marie Schneider: For dedication in support of the directorate assisting other Project Managers (PM) in the implementation and use of the new Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) system in addition to her continued support to her client organisation, RCAF, earning praise and credibility for the directorate.

The following persons were unfortunately unavailable at the time of the presentation:

  • Alexandra Berlo: An ardent defender of the Canadian taxpayer and upholder of design excellence Alexandra Berlo exceeds expectations to ensure projects are compliant with all regulations, and are technically sound, functionally effective and financially prudent.
  • Fiona Boey: For outstanding "Team Building" skills, organization, creativity, and innovation, Fiona Boey is a role model, inspires her colleagues, fostering teamwork and earned their respect.
  • Roger Cooke: In recognition of Mr Roger Cooke’s outstanding Project Management effort in delivery of Atlantic region major construction projects in 2013.
  • Denis Fortin: For persistance, perseverance and dedication. His active and valuable contribution to the Project Approval Process Review initiative and guidance on Integrated Project Delivery within this initiative has been invaluable.
  • Pierre Legault: Through his actions Pierre has shown that he will go to whatever lengths necessary to ensure that petroleum product tank infrastructure is both safe to operate and environmentally compliant.
  • Tirath Sodhi: Under strict security constraints, this award is for successfully delivering a campus-wide electrical power system design and implementation to improve power security for critical operations.
