We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Louis Sadowski (Ret'd) on 21 Nov 2014 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre in Ottawa.
Louis was a proud Second World War veteran of the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war, he married Margaret Carroll and raised three children. In later life, he resided at the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, where he remained active and was affectionately known as “Legs.” In 2012, he was among a group of Perley veterans invested into the Order of St. George. Louis was also a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion Westboro Branch 480 and a past member of the Guard of Honour.
The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa followed by a funeral mass in the chapel. Reception to follow. Private interment at Notre Dame Cemetery. Details to be confirmed. Instead of flowers, donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre would be appreciated.
