Warrant Officer Adam Crozier exemplifies what it means to serve and committed to service both in uniform and in the community. Adam enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a Combat Engineer on 31 Mar 2009, motivated by a strong desire to serve on operations in Afghanistan. Originally from Ontario, Adam was offered postings closer to home but chose a more demanding path. He volunteered for 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (1 CER) in Alberta, seeking the opportunity to deploy overseas. He subsequently deployed to Afghanistan on the Mission Transition Task Force (MTTF) in direct support of the CAF’s withdrawal from the theatre in 2011.

Adam’s operational experience continued with deployments on Operation UNIFIER in 2017 and Operation IMPACT in 2020, where his professionalism and reliability further strengthened his reputation and represented CAF on the international stage. Early in his career, Adam spent a short period driving LAVs but soon discovered his true passion lay within the Light Squadron. In 2015, he earned his Basic Parachutist qualification, allowing him to be employed as a paratrooper. This milestone reflected his desire to push himself physically and mentally, and to serve in demanding roles alongside like‑minded teammates.

Never content to settle, Adam continued to seek out challenges that would benefit both his personal development and the Regiment. He volunteered for the Conduct After Capture Instruction (CACI) course, bringing back invaluable skill sets that enhanced unit preparedness and survivability training. He also became a key coach within the Regimental Shooting Cadre, contributing directly to raising standards of marksmanship and combat effectiveness.

Adam’s leadership impact expanded further when he was appointed lead for the Regimental Training Cell. In this role, he was responsible for receiving and integrating all new personnel arriving from the training system. Understanding the importance of culture, readiness, and mentorship, he revamped the indoctrination program to include a robust shooting and hand-to-hand fighting package, ensuring soldiers were combat‑ready before being posted to Squadrons. This initiative laid the foundation for what is now recognized as the Regimental training cadre, a legacy that continues to shape 1 CER.

In 2022, Adam’s professional excellence was formally recognized when he finished as the top candidate on the Sapper Leader Selection and was selected to attend the prestigious Sapper Leader Course in U.S.A. He is also qualified as a Helicopter Insertion Master, further reinforcing his versatility and operational value.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Warrant Officer Crozier is equally dedicated to serving his community and often alongside his spouse, Samantha Crozier. In April 2026, Adam was one of a key organizers of a large‑scale bottle drive and fundraising campaign in support of Christ the King School. Through tireless efforts selling raffle tickets, collecting bottles, and accepting cash donations, the campaign raised an extraordinary $35,000, funding the replacement of 70 new cheerleading uniforms and enabling students to compete with pride.

Adam is also deeply involved in youth sports. A certified Level 2 hockey coach, he has coached with KC South (Knights of Columbus) for over 2.5 years, dedicating time twice a week to developing young athletes. Through coaching, Adam emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and confidence, those values rooted in his military service.

His commitment extends beyond the rink. He actively supports fundraising events to help subsidize registration fees and equipment costs for families in need, with a personal goal of making hockey more affordable and accessible to everyone. He regularly volunteers at tournaments, coaches competitive events, and organizes social outings for youth, including trips to Edmonton Oil Kings games and local water parks.

Adam’s open‑mindedness and curiosity have also led him to engage with communities well outside his comfort zone. He contributes to the local Taiwanese community, volunteering during Heritage Day events and embracing opportunities to learn from different cultural perspectives. At Christ the King School, he frequently volunteers as a parent supervisor and helps on the Parent Council with his spouse, Samantha.

Whether mentoring junior soldiers, building institutional foundations within the Regiment, or showing up for children and families in his community, Warrant Officer Adam Crozier consistently demonstrates leadership through service. His actions reflect the core values of the CAF and the proud legacy of the Combat Engineers, quiet professionals who build, fight, and support wherever needed. “Leadership isn’t about rank. It’s about being present, doing the hard work when no one is watching, and leaving people and organizations stronger than you found them. I am proud what we can achieve together when the community came together.” WO Crozier shared at the end. Adam is supporting the Defence Team Canadian Asian Network (DTCAN) and organized the DTCAN National Event hosed on 28 1100-1200 Apr 26 (MST) at the WOSM, CFB Edmonton. Everyone is welcome to attend in person or virtually on team.
