    We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Murray James Inglis (Ret’d) peacefully at the Pontiac General Hospital in Shawville QC on 27 September 2012 at the age of 91.

    Born in Winnipeg MB, Murray was a WW II veteran who served overseas as an infantryman with the Lake Superior Regiment from 1940 to 1945.  Demobilized in 1945, he rejoined the Army in 1946 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as an instrument mechanic.  In 1949 he transferred to the Royal Canadian Engineers as a surveyor and participated in field surveys of McBride BC and the Northwest Highway System Highway.  In 1955 Murray qualified as a photogrammetrist.  He retired in 1967 and created and operated the Inglis Carpet Cleaners Ltd.

    Visitation will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa ON on 5 October from 9:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel.  Donations may be made to the Pontiac General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, the Canadian Cancer Society , the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa-Carleton or a charity of one’s choice.  {gdSep2016kh}
