Advance to Contact is a photographic illustration of the Canadian mission in Kandahar, Afghanistan. All the photographs were taken by the author from the front lines where he served as a Combat Engineer with 1 Combat Engineer Regiment on Operation Archer 2006. The book includes some anecdotes, quotes and explanations. This is a very interesting book with a unique perspective on the mission to Kandahar from a soldier's point of view.

About the Author

Greg Gorecki traded in his role as a combat soldier in Afghanistan for a one-man campaign to help first responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health injuries.

Gorecki has published a book of stunning photographs taken during a six-month tour of Afghanistan serving with the Edmonton-based 1 Combat Engineer Regiment, with each glossy photo (measuring about 13 inches by 11 inches) accompanied by a story.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will help first responders with PTSD or mental health injuries and help spread awareness about the issue of mental health.
