The Canadian Military Engineer Association (CMEA) owns and maintains this site. The website does not make use of any privacy-enhancing technology, does not collect any personal information automatically such as through the use of ‘cookies’ and does not place any information on visitors’ machines.

The CMEA does collect non-identifiable information on visitors to the website via the use of Site Meter (http://www.sitemeter.com), to determine general usage patterns and permit site optimization.

The CMEA does not collect information with the intent to track suspected intrusions, electronic vandalism, etc. However, the commercial host of the CMEA site (DOWCO.com Internet (http://www.dowco.com)) can/may do so. Please visit DOWCO’s site for an explanation of their tracking policies.

The CMEA website does contain links to other websites, which may or may not have their own Privacy Policies/Statements. These external websites are not subject to the CMEA’s Website Privacy Policy. Please consult each individual website for an explanation of their privacy policies.

The CMEA does require from time to time that personal information, such as an individual’s membership number, is necessary to access certain specific and specified applications (such as the conduct of survey). When such information is collected, it is used strictly for the purpose for which it was obtained, and is limited in distribution only to those individuals within the CMEA who require it for the specified purpose. The personal information thus gathered is maintained indefinitely in electronic format by the webmaster and/or CMEA National Executive to form a historical record on computer systems accessible solely by the individuals to which they belong. Should there be any need to correct personal information thus collected, please contact the webmaster to determine what information you require to be modified.

Should you choose to provide private information to the webmaster, or any member of the CMEA Executive via email or otherwise, your information will be used only for the specific purpose for which it was provided (ie. replying to your request to provide your membership number via email). Such correspondence will only be kept for an amount of time necessary to facilitate the exchange of information between the CMEA and yourself, and will only be kept in electronic format on the computer systems of the addressee. You may request access and correction to this information at any time prior to its disposal.

You are also reminded that email is not a secure information transmission method, and therefore, should you wish to transmit private and/or personal information to any member of the CMEA, your correspondence can not be guaranteed secure. It is not recommended that you use email to transmit any type of private information.
