The MEAC Challenge Trophy was originally awarded to the
unit achieving the best score in the Dominion of Canada
Rifle Association winter indoor matches for the .22 calibre
rifle. The trophy was first presented in 1936 and was open
to all Engineer units of both the Permanent Force and the
Militia but it was later restricted to Reserve Force units
only. The trophy was in continous competition, less three
of the war years, until 1962.
It was re-instituted in 1977 and is currently awarded to
the Engineer Reserve unit with the bes score on the annual
Individual Battle Tasks C7 rifle classification practise.
